Do you ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day? Do you every wonder why it’s nine o’clock at night and you still haven’t made time for your homework? Everyone is guilty of procrastinating, and everyone has the moments were you would rather do ANYTHING than the thing you’re actually supposed to be doing at that time. Here are a few tips to take control of your time and organize the things that life throws at you:
1.) Make a “To-Do List” every day.
Yes, that’s right… everyday! Take a few minutes to write down all the things you want to accomplish that day so that you do not get distracted. If you want to take it a step further to be extremely organized, you can use your school planner to track progress and make a schedule.
2.) Use Spare minutes wisely.
Spending time on Facebook or Myspace can distract you from homework time. Set aside an hour a day to read your textbook or work out your math problems instead of talking on the phone or texting after school.
3.) If you say “NO”, you’re not a bad person.
You cannot do everything at the same time. If your friends ask you to hang out after school, but you know you have work to do, tell them that you can hang out later in the week. Do not get caught up with what your peers are doing if they are not making their work or school their priority.
4.) Sleep!
Staying up all night is not a good idea. Going through the day tired and un-energized will make the day seem longer and non productive.
5.) Communicate your schedule to others.
Whether you need to tell your brother or sisters to be quiet while you are doing work, or tell your best friend not to call you till after 8, then that’s what you need to do. Make sure your friends and family know that you are serious about getting your work done, so that you can enjoy quality time with them later.
