
“Home Body” – 5 Easy Ways to Get in Shape for Summer… At Home!
You CAN Do It! Use cans that you have in your food pantry as weights to do arm curls and other weight lifting. Since they do not weigh a lot, focus on more repetition, which will burn more fat, while building muscle.
Couch Potato? If you like to lie around on the couch and watch television, why not use commercial breaks as a chance to tone up your body? Lay down a towel on the floor next to the couch and do sit-ups, crunches, and push-ups during the commercials. Forget channel surfing, get a work out!
Take it to the Top! If you have stairs at home, use them to build muscles in your legs. You can do calf raises on the edge of one stair or do a mini-aerobic session on multiple stairs. Make sure to ask your parents if they mind before you begin though, just incase.
Watch and Learn. Exercise videos can be very helpful if you follow the instructions carefully. Pop the DVD in and pretend like you’re at a gym doing a personal training session with an instructor. Use your imagination, so then you’re working your body and brain!
Shake it! Put on some good music and make a fun dance routine. Teach it to your sibling or friends. If you give it your full energy, you’ll break a sweat and get a great, full-body workout!
