Q: I have so many bad habits. Where does the power to say “no” come from?

A: The power to say no comes from within you. You have to first be real with self which you’ve done, which also shows that you are much stronger then you think. Now you should surround yourself with others that think like you and are going to support the changes you want to make but also make those changes within themselves. So I suggest you simply start by taking steps towards the changes you are trying to make and limit your association with those that are not supportive of your growth in these areas. And for those who decide to make changes with you, allow them to encourage you on this road as you encourage them.

Q: What’s the best way to tell someone you love, you want to wait to have sex?

A: The best way is full honesty. If you are worried they may not understand you shouldn't have sex with them anyway because anyone who does love you would be fully understanding and respectful of your decision to wait. What you compromise to keep, you will eventually lose. By being straight forward early on and you will avoid having to risk compromising later.

Q: My parents recently got a divorce. I feel like my life is ruined. What can I do?

A: Understand first that your parent’s decision has nothing to do with you. You still have your whole life ahead of you to make plans and build a successful life that you can be proud of. It all starts with a plan! Have faith that nothing surprises God. Just because the two of them couldn’t work out their difference, doesn't at all mean there can't be a happy future for you. Q: What do you say to your best friend when she ask for advice dealing with 3 boyfriends?

A: You are her friend for a reason. She’s not coming to you because she has no one else to go to, she’s coming to you because she expects for you to speak the truth and not hide your true feelings towards the matter. Be honest with her and inform her of the type of girl she will be labeled as if she continues to date multiple people at once. The best thing you can do for her is be honest and tell her that if she only had one boyfriend she may not have all the issues she is dealing with now.

Q: Why won’t my parents let me have a boyfriend?

A: Every parent is different. Though we don’t understand it at times, our parent’s desire is to protect us and to do that by any means necessary. Dating at a young age, can lead to a false perception of what a relationship is supposed to be like. Or, they may feel you are not mature enough yet. I know it may be hard but you may need to sit down and ask them why. If you know exactly why they are saying no you may be able to make adjustments in your life that reassure them that they have nothing to worry about.

Q: Do boys only think of sex?

A: No, all boys don’t think of only sex. However, warriors think of fighting and Christians do think of church. That was said to say this, the type of boy means everything. If you found someone you like but you want to know his intentions just listen to what he is saying. If sex is the only thing on his mind you will know it because he will talk about it sooner than later.

Q: Why don’t I like the way I look?

A: The reason you may not like the way you look is because you may not understand why you look that way. The thing is there could only be one you in the world. Society attempts to tell us what beauty is and forces us to lose our individuality and conform to that, but beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. You have to learn that confidence comes from within. I used to not like the way I looked but then I realized it wasn't going to change so I learned to walk with my head high and be proud of the body and face God gave me, because I know he is. I want you to go stand in the mirror naked and look at yourself for about 5 minutes Look at your shape, skin tone, everything, and realize that what you are looking at is something no one else has! And one day when you learn to appreciate that unique gift others will also.

Q: I'm dating someone who is very jealous of me. What can I do about it?

A: A jealous person is going to always be jealous because of fear. They fear that another can do, can say, or will provide something they can’t. Once that thing is provided, it will be what takes what they are fearful of losing, away from them. You can’t do anything about it. What you need to know is that it only gets worse from here and answer whether or not this is something to wish to grow with. You are young enough to walk away from the situation so if I was you, I would.

Q: Why is it that when your best friend gets a new boyfriend, she changes?

A: Sometimes, even though it is not healthy, girls can become consumed in relationships. The best thing for you to do is talk to her about how you feel. Just let her know you believe she is a great friend and that you want her to make sure she doesn't let any of that change even if she is dating someone because you value her friendship. However, try to be understanding of the fact that she wants to spend time with her boyfriend as well.

Q: Why are all the fun things wrong?

A: LOL, All the fun things aren’t wrong. It all goes back to what your definition of fun is. Fun is always going to be what you make of it. Fun doesn’t have to mean smoking, drinking, sex, and/or disobeying laws and rules. Step back and look at what aspects are needed for you to consider something to be fun.

Q: Why do I feel lonely even when I’m with a lot of people?

A:  Feeling lonely even when you are with other people is normally caused by a deeper issue. Something is obviously on your mind so that even when you are in the company of others you can't fully enjoy them because you are so weighed down by everything else on your mind.  So try finding out what that problem is and solve it.
