Things to Do for Your Dad or With Your Dad on Father's Day
1. Out of the Ordinary. Sometimes, simply doing something you normally wouldn't do can make your father happy. Maybe you can help your dad with yard work, cut the grass, or even help with fix-ups around the house.
2. Keep it in the Kitchen. Cook your dad something that he enjoys eating. Even if you aren't a great cook, he will appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness. Make sure you set the table really nice and serve him the food.
3. Get Some Fresh Air. Participating in an outdoor activity with your dad will be great quality time! Maybe your dad likes outdoor activities; if so, ask him if he would like to go canoeing or biking on a local trail or at a local state park.
4. Sport It. Pop some popcorn or makes sandwiches and jump in front of the television to catch a sports game on TV. If you don't have the money to attend the game, create your own viewing party with your dad at home!
5. Picture This! Sometimes, we all need to look back on the years. A good way to do this is to create a picture timeline for your dad. Go through old photo albums and find pictures of you and your dad from a infancy until now. He will love the blast from the past.
6. Pack it! Take time to make some sandwiches and and drinks and spend a day at the park. You can play basketball, tennis, soccer, or make up your own games for team building. All these activities are good for quality time with your dad.
7. Express Yourself. Sometimes, it's easy to forget to tell your dad "thank you". Take time to write a poem or a letter to your dad to express your gratitude and love for him. It may seem to simple for a father's day gift, but something thoughtful can go a long way.
8. Soap Suds! Washing your dad's car can be a really great gift. It will only take you about an hour, but his appreciations will go far beyond that. Maybe even take it an extra step and vacuum out the inside of the car. Clean it good so he knows you took pride in washing the car for him.
